Who can be insured

All MPT users, Myanmar citizens and foreigners residing in Myanmar for various reasons can purchase ZIWAKA Health Insurance product from MPT platform.

1. Contacting GGI Nippon Life

Policy Holder or family member can contact GGI NIPPON LIFE for following matters:

  • Hospitalization due to Sickness or Accident
  • Due to death of the insured person
  • Major Operation and Miscarriage due to Accident
  • Clinic / Outpatient Treatment

GGI NIPPON LIFE’s staff will handle the call and carry on the following processes:

  • Staff will ask the reason( among four benefit) of the calling.
  • Staff will ask the caller’s name
  • Staff will ask the policy number
  • Staff will record for this claim notification
  • Staff will ask to send Necessary Documents through Viber or email after insured person hospitalized, done Operation, done treatment at Clinic

2. Sending Necessary Documents

Policy Holder need send following documents after insured person hospitalized, done Operation, done treatment at Clinic according to following Scenarios:

Hospitalization due to Sickness or Accident

  • Photo of his/her policy
  • Claim form (which is from GGINL and need to fill up)
  • Photo of doctor recommendation letter
  • Photo of Hospital Treatment Record

Due to death of the insured person

  • Photo of his/her policy
  • Claim form (which is from GGINL and need to fill up)
  • Photo of the Evidence document for death

GGI NIPPON LIFE will operate the claim with the following processes:

  • Collecting the documents which were sent by Policy holder
  • Checking to those documents, if not complete, contact to Policy Holder
  • Reply Policy Holder, if not align with Terms and Conditions

Sending Necessary Documents (Cont’d)

Policy Holder need send following documents after insured person hospitalized, done Operation, done treatment at Clinic according to following Scenarios:

Major Operation and Miscarriage due to Accident

  • Photo of his/her policy
  • Claim form (which is from GGINL and need to fill up)
  • Photo of doctor recommendation letter
  • Photo of Hospital Treatment Record

Clinic / Outpatient Treatment

  • Photo of his/her policy
  • Claim form (which is from GGINL and need to fill up)
  • Photo of doctor recommendation letter
  • Photo of Medical Records

GGI NIPPON LIFE will operate the claim with the following processes:

  • Collecting the documents which were sent by Policy holder
  • Checking to those documents, if not complete, contact to Policy Holder
  • Reply Policy Holder, if not align with Terms and Conditions

3. Processing the Claim

GGI NIPPON Life Staff will process the claim with following steps:

  • Policy Verification will do with Core System
  • Inspecting the documents also medical records and calculation the benefit amount, asking additional documents if necessary
  • Submitting the claim case for approval
  • Making decision for the claim case whether approve or reject
  • TAT of processing the Claim case is not more than 7 working days. (Excluding the requesting essential  documents time from Policy Holder)

4. Replying the Claim Situation

GGI NIPPON LIFE’s staff will replying to Policy Holder with following scenarios:

  • Staff will explain about the claim case was rejected and continue explain the reason of rejected
  • Staff will explain about the claim case was successfully approved and continue explain the benefit amount.
  • Staff will ask Policy Holder need to tell his/her bank account numbers to GGINL Staff
  • Staff will ask the address of the bank branch which he/she would like to receive (If policy holder does not have bank account)

Policy Holder or family member will receive the replying call with following scenarios:

  • Policy Holder will listen the explanation about rejection
  • Policy Holder will listen the claim benefit amount.
  • Policy Holder need to tell his/her bank account numbers to GGINL Staff
  • Policy Holder need to tell the address of the bank branch which he/she would like to receive (If he/she do not have bank account)

5. Transfering the Claim Payment

Policy Holder will get their claim benefit by following way:

  • Policy Holder will receive their claim amount by mobile payment
  • Policy Holder will receive their claim amount by bank transfer

Health Insurance is the type of the insurance which reduces the expenses of hospitalization to some extent.

2. What are the benefits of health insurance?

If you are hospitalized due to an accident or illnesses, health insurance will get the benefit of hospitalization based on the coverage amount of health insurance which you purchased by calculating the quantity of the inpatient days.

3. Who is eligible to buy Health Insurance?

Eligible to anyone who is under the age of 75 from the age of 6 and for those under the age of 18, the guardian will be policy holder and can purchase the policy.

4. Can I buy health insurance for my family?

Yes, family members must be between the age of 6 and 75, and for those under the age of 18, the guardian will be policy holder and can purchase the policy.

5. My father/mother has hypertension or other illnesses and is it ok to buy health insurance?

Health insurance can only be purchased for those who do not have the disease and intend to get coverage when they hospitalize.

6. Is it eligible for me to buy health insurance as I have a previous history of the disease?

While submitting a proposal of ZIWAKA, please honestly fill the declaration form with the righteous information of your condition and our company will inform whether it is eligible to buy or not.

7. How is the health insurance coverage duration determined?

The health insurance coverage period is one year and for policyholders who make semi-annually payment, the policy will be terminated if the second instalment is not paid within 15 days after 6 months.

8. Is there a refund if you no longer want health insurance after purchase?

There is no refund after the purchase of health insurance.

9. Will there be a discount if you buy next year with the fact that you do not make a claim compensation throughout the health insurance period?

There is no discount for the next year purchase even if you do not make a claim compensation throughout the health insurance period.

10. How much does it cost to buy Health Insurance?

Health insurance premium depends on the age of the insured person. For example, a person under the age of 30 will have to pay 11,000 kyats for a one-year subscription. For 6 months, it will only cost 5,600 kyats.

11.How is the payment of the health insurance purchase? Do I have to pay in cash?

You can buy health insurance premium with MPT money or MPT phone bill.

12. What if I have no cash left in my MPT money account to buy health insurance?

If you have no cash left in your MPT money account to buy health insurance, you can top up your phone bill.

13. Can I buy health insurance in instalments?

Health insurance premiums can be paid for 1 year or 6 months.

14. Do we need to do medical check-up for purchasing health insurance?

You do not need medical check-up for purchasing health insurance. You have to fill out the declaration and proposal with honesty / good faith. If it is required, you need to send the copy of your medical record history and your previous check-up to us.

15. Is it eligible only for local hospital or does foreign hospital and clinics include coverage for health insurance?

Health insurance is eligible to cover the local as well as foreign hospitals and clinics.

16.When will the health insurance cover start?

After the payment of the health insurance premium, the coverage will start. For the claim relating to hospitalization due to Covid19 is valid only after the 21 days of policy start date.

17. Which evidence will we get after the purchase of health insurance?

After the purchase of the health insurance, GGI Nippon Life will send the policy contract (E-policy) via Viber or email.

18. Will we claim for hospitalization on the purpose of childbirth?

If you are hospitalized for childbirth, you are not entitled to get claim.

19. What about going to clinic for curing illnesses?

For going to clinics due to illnesses as an outpatient, it will be covered if you buy additional option coverage in the health insurance.

20. What will we get claim compensation if we are hospitalized? What are the maximum claim compensations?

You must be admitted to the hospital for a maximum of 60 days continuously or discontinuously. However, those who are hospitalized for less than 4 days are not entitled to claim compensations and are entitled to benefits starting from 4 days to 60 days.

21.How do we get claim for the hospitalization while admitting to the hospital or after the discharge from the hospital?

You have to inform the insurance company while admitting to the hospital and you can ask for claim compensation after the discharge from the hospital by calculating the days of your hospitalization.

22. How long will the claim process take?

If there is complete document while asking for the claim, we will process within 3 days to 7 days.

23. How can claim compensation be issued? Is it ok to draw the claim compensation out on behalf of the insured person?

You can draw out the claim with proxy (General Power/ Special Power) letter.

24. How long does it take to make a payment for the premium fee after submitting the proposal through ZIWAKA?

It takes only 10 minutes to make a payment for the premium fee after submitting the proposal from the ZIWAKA.

25. Which evidence will we need to send while purchasing insurance from ZIWAKA?

You have to send the NRC photo and the passport photo which recently taken within 3 months or selfie while purchasing insurance from ZIWAKA. For the purchasing of under 18 (minor), you have to send the birth certificate photo of the child (if not child’s NRC is unavailable) also need to send the NRC of the guardian who will purchase.

26. If you die in the hospital, will you still receive the benefit of hospitalization day or only get the death benefit?

If you die in the hospital, you can get not only death benefits but also the benefit of the hospitalization days.

27. Is it eligible for government employees to buy it?

Yes, government servant / employees can also buy it.

28. Is it eligible for military personnel to buy it?

Military personnel can also buy it, but the claim relating with wars or war alike situations cannot get the claim benefit.

29. While admitting to hospital, when will claim process start to cover?

For those who are hospitalized for less than 4 days, claim compensation will not be covered and it will start from the day 4 to 60days.

36. Will foreigners be valid to buy health insurance?

Yes, foreigners can also buy health insurance with MPT money or MPT phone bill.

37. Is it covered even if the COVID-19 s positive?

It is covered even if COVID-19 is positive. Please also note that there will be a 14-day waiting period for any COVID 19 related claims for all policies issued from the policy effective date.

38. If I can join SSB at my company, do I need to purchase?

SSB is generally an in-kind benefit and is limited to treatment at a designated medical institution, but in the case of Health Insurance, the insurance payment is paid in cash. Therefore, it is possible to receive treatment at the desired hospital using that money.
