Published 21 Jun 2024

(Yangon, 21st June,2024)- MPT, the leading true local operator, is dedicated to enrich the daily lives of the people and its employees. As part of its ongoing TeamFit: Unite & Move initiative, MPT previously organized Zumba and Futsal tournaments. This time, in celebration of International Yoga Day, MPT successfully held a Yoga health activity on 20th June with the participation of employees from MPT offices across the country, marking the third event in its series aimed at promoting a healthy and active lifestyle while fostering a strong sense of camaraderie and collaboration within the organization. In this event, 30 of employees from Yangon participated physically, while 200  of employees from other states and regions joined virtually. This widespread participation underscores MPT’s dedication to holistic employee wellness.

In a statement released in 2023 to commemorate International Yoga Day, the World Health Organization (WHO) urged its member states to help their citizens reduce physical inactivity, which is among the top ten leading causes of death worldwide, and a key risk factor for non-communicable diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, cancer and diabetes

Mr. Naoki Shimane, Deputy Chief Operating Officer (Dy COO) of MPT-KSGM Joint Operations expressed his excitement about the campaign, “We initiated TeamFit: Unite & Move to promote a holistic approach to health and well-being. Previously, we held three Zumba activities and one Futsal tournament to elevate employee fitness and build team unity, with participation from thousands of employees. We decided to organize a Yoga activity because it promotes the unity of mind and body, thought and action. We would like to thank our instructor, Wutt Ye Moe (YoursYogabywutyee), for contributing to the success of this program and inspiring us to embrace a healthier lifestyle together. We also extend our gratitude to our employees from Yangon and nationwide for their enthusiasm. We hope this activity helps our team members discover a sense of oneness with themselves, the world, and nature.”

As MPT continues to champion the well-being of its employees, we would like to invite all employees to join in upcoming events. Stay tuned for more updates on our wellness programs and upcoming events as we strive to make well-being a core part of our vibrant work culture.
