(Yangon, 5^th June 2024)_As a true local telecom operator MPT has consistently demonstrates its dedication to protecting and preserving the environment for present and future generations, both within its organization and in collaboration with the local community.

This year’s World Environment Day campaign focuses on land restoration, desertification and drought resilience under the slogan “Our land. Our future. We are #GenerationRestoration.”  and MPT is proud to have continued on its journey that aligns with this theme. To promote a greener environment and improve the quality of life for communities across the country, MPT initiated nationwide tree planting activity by planting 2,000 plants in 14 selected locations across various States and Regions in June 2023 under its “MPT Green Movement” Initiative. This year, MPT will continue the tree planting program in collaboration with relevant organizations across various States and Regions.

Additionally, MPT is dedicated to sustainable practices within workplace through its Waste Management Program, which began in May 2023, focuses on recycling wastepaper and plastic. Initially implemented in 5 Yangon offices, it has now expanded to 10 offices for paper waste and 5 offices for plastic waste.

Waste management plays a crucial role in land restoration, combating desertification, and enhancing drought resilience. By improving soil health, preventing land degradation, managing water resources effectively, we contribute to a more sustainable environment.

Since 2017, MPT has actively planted over 17,000 trees in partnership with local environmental organizations and NGOs. Additionally, the introduction of the E-invoice system in 2020 reflects MPT’s ongoing commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and enhancing customer convenience and raise awareness.
