
MPT Conducts Its 16th Collective Blood Donation Activity Across 7 States & Regions Honoring World Blood Donor Day
(Yangon, 20th June 2025) – Following World Blood Donor Day on June 14, MPT successfully conducted its regular blood donation activity on June 20, 2025, in Yangon Region, Ayeyarwaddy Region, Tanintharyi Region, Kayah State, Mon State and Shan State (East and North). This activity marks MPT’s 16th blood donation activity, with participation from over 230 employees and dedicated volunteers across 7 states and regions on June 14, 2025.
According to the WHO, the first World Blood Donor Day was observed in 2004, which was followed by its designation as an annual global event by the fifty-eighth World Health Assembly in 2005. World Blood Donor Day is now celebrated each year throughout the world on 14 June to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation and to recognize the contribution of voluntary unpaid blood donors in saving lives and improving health.
In line with this mission, MPT has been continuously organizing this notable blood donation activity every four months with its employees and volunteers since 2017 aiming to save lives and improve the health of people in Myanmar.
Mr. Naoki Shimane, Advisor to COO of MPT-KSGM Joint Operations, express that, “MPT’s blood donation activity is a notable community support program that benefits many people in emergencies requiring blood transfusions. In collaboration with our employees and volunteers, we have continuously carried out this activity, reaching our 16th blood donation activity. To date, we have donated a total of over 9,200 blood bags to hospitals and blood centers nationwide. I sincerely thank all employees and volunteers across the states and regions who participated in today’s activity. Your selfless contributions are truly valued and vital to promoting the well-being of others.”
