(Yangon, 14th June 2025) – On June 14, 2025, MPT proudly concluded its continual ‘MPT Green Movement’ nationwide tree-planting campaign, which was conducted simultaneously across 14 States and Regions in Myanmar. Over 700 participants, including dedicated MPT employees and enthusiastic community volunteers, joined together to plant more than 1400 saplings, reinforcing MPT’s unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability. The planting activities took place in Nay Pyi Taw, Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Shan (East), Shan (South), Shan (North), Bago (East), Bago (West), Magway, Ayeyarwady, Tanintharyi, Mandalay and Yangon.
As part of MPT’s ongoing CSR activities efforts, the nationwide tree-planting initiative strategically selected native and beneficial species to directly support local communities by providing shade, improving air quality, and contributing to long-term environmental conservation. Beyond enhancing the landscape, the initiative aims to promote a greener environment, improve quality of life and mitigate the impact of natural disasters and climate change by reducing greenhouse gases. Since 2017, MPT has planted over 20,000 trees across Myanmar, making a meaningful contribution to the preservation of the country’s natural ecosystem.
Mr. Naoki Shimane, Advisor to COO of MPT-KSGM Joint Operations, express that “For many years, we have actively supported our communities through a wide range of CSR initiatives, demonstrating our deep commitment to environmental sustainability. Our recent nationwide tree-planting campaign marks the seventh edition of this effort, with over20000 trees successfully planted across the country. This initiative goes beyond planting—it reflects our long-term vision for a greener, healthier Myanmar. We hope it inspires individuals and organizations alike to join hands in building a more sustainable and vibrant future.”
In addition to environmental activities, MPT continues to implement impactful CSR programs across key areas such as Health, Education, and Business Incubation—empowering communities nationwide while maintaining its mission to provide reliable, 24/7 telecommunications services across Myanmar.
