(Yangon, 23^rd February 2024)- MPT, Myanmar’s first and leading telecommunications operator, organizes a recurring blood donation activity every four months. The primary objective of this initiative is to raise public awareness about the significance of blood donation and encourage volunteers nationwide to contribute clean and life-saving blood for medical purposes.

On 23^rd February 2024, MPT successfully organized its 13^th Blood Donation Activity together with MPT employees and dedicated volunteers fulfilling the blood requirements for people of Myanmar at 5 States & Regions such as Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay, Tanintharyi, Shan (North), and Shan (East). Additionally, an extra Region, Shan (North) to ensure that the blood donation drive could be completed on 24^th February 2024.

A total of over 400 blood donors in 5 States and Regions participated by donating their valuable blood to hospitals and blood centers. To date, more than 8,500 individuals, including MPT and members of the local community, have donated over 8,000 blood bags to meet the urgent blood transfusion needs of patients in hospitals throughout Myanmar.

Mr. Naoki Shimane, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of MPT-KSGM Joint Operations, expresses his heartfelt gratitude to all employees and volunteers who have participated in the 13^th blood donation activity by stressing that “Your invaluable support has had a significant impact on the well-being of individuals and families throughout Myanmar who are in urgent need of the blood transfusion. We kindly request your continued participation in future blood donation activities. Our commitment to the well-being of the people of Myanmar is demonstrated through noble initiatives like blood donation, and we will continue to support the community.”
