MPT Planted Over 1,500 Saplings Nationwide Under Its ‘MPT Green Movement’ Initiative

Published 24 Jun 2024

(Yangon, 24th June 2024)- MPT, Myanmar’s first and leading telecommunications operator, announced the successful completion of the “MPT Green Movement” nationwide tree planting initiative, conducted in 13 States and Regions locations on 22nd June 2024 to promote a greener environment.

Over 1,200 participants, including dedicated MPT staff and outside volunteers planted over 1,500 saplings including hard wood and quick thriving trees. These varieties are chosen specifically to benefit local communities by providing shade, improving air quality, and supporting environmental conservation efforts. By planting resilient and beneficial trees, we aim to ensure that our efforts have a lasting positive impact on both the environment and the well-being of the people.

From the introduction of “MPT Green Movement,” MPT has achieved remarkable success, with over 18,500 trees planted across the nation. In our latest effort, we have added 1,518 new trees to this impressive total. This continuous commitment highlights our dedication to environmental stewardship and our proactive approach to combating climate change.

The initiative has seen widespread participation from our 13 State and Region offices as below details, demonstrating a collective effort to enhance local ecosystems.
