MPT Provides Essential Knowledge and Workplace Skills to Youth Through Its 2025 Nationwide Internship Program

(Yangon, 21st May 2025) _ As Myanmar’s first and leading telecom operator, MPT not only committed to delivering reliable services to its customers but also to nurturing the future of Myanmar’s youth. MPT has launched its 2025 Nationwide Internship Program to provide valuable workplace learning opportunities for final-year students from 18 Technology and Computer Universities across the country.

MPT’s 2025 internship program began in April and will run through June across 10 states and regions, offering nearly 180 final-year students valuable hands-on experience. During the program, students gain practical exposure to key telecommunications operations including transmission, microwave, mobile networks, FTTH (Fiber to the Home), telecom facilities management, health, safety and environment (HSE), and information security awareness.

Among the participants, 55 students are undergoing intensive training at the MPT’s Network Center and Training Center in the Yangon Region, while 121 students are participating in the program at various MPT offices across the States and Regions.

Mr. Naoki Shimane, Advisor to COO of MPT-KSGM Joint Operations said that “Youth are the next generation who will drive our country’s development. Through MPT’s 2025 Nationwide Internship Program, we share youth with essential knowledge and workplace skills to prepare for their future careers in the telecommunications industry. Students gain not only technical insights but also an understanding of the importance of safety for themselves and their families. We believe that this initiative plays a crucial role in helping final-year students transition confidently into the workplace.”

Since 2018, MPT has been conducting annual nationwide internship programs, benefitingover 2,000 students from Technological and Computer Universities across Myanmar, with a focus on sharing real-world industry knowledge and skills.
