“MPT Celebrates Thadingyut Festival by Donation and Paid Homage Activities at 24Homes for the Aged Locations Nationwide”

(Yangon, 26th October 2023) _ MPT has initiated Nationwide donation to 24 Home for the aged and other much needed places in 18 locations to commemorate Thadingyut Festival starting from 23rd to 26th October. Thadingyut festival is the favorite festival of Myanmar people, and it is also the time to pay homage to Buddhist monks, teachers, parents, and elders as well as to pardon for misdeeds. Hence, as a way of expressing sincere gratitude to customers and embracing Myanmar culture, MPT has donated MMK 30 million worth of essential food items, donating meals for the day and cash. Additionally, 10 oxygen concentrators were donated to Yangon Children Hospital and Jivitadana Sangha Hospital during the period. Donating items like medicine and towels are also included for the convenience of the elders when necessary. The whole donation process has been carried out by MPT offices in each States and Regions. “During Thadingyut Festival, Myanmar people pay homage to elders, and we would like to preserve this beautiful tradition of Myanmar. With this contribution, we also intend to show love and respect and hope to bring joy to the elders. We have contributed MMK 30 million for Thadingyut nationwide donation activity and have spent over MMK 26 billion to Myanmar society through various types of CSR activities. Moreover, we have also introduced Thadingyut special promotion to spread joy and gratitude with our customers across the country and wish a happy and prosperous Thadingyut to all our customers,” said Mr. Naoki Shimane, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of MPT-KSGM Joint Operations.
