
MPT Donates Emergency Food Package To Over 700 Households in Bago(East) Affected By The Natural Disaster
(Yangon, 13th October 2023) – MPT, as a leading and true local telecom operator, is committed to its pledge of “အတူလက်တွဲ အမြဲရှိမည်” [Together with The Myanmar People]. In response to the recent flood in Bago (East) Region, MPT has donated emergency food packages worth a total value of MMK 20 million. Additionally, affected users will receive a 2GB data bonus and Free On-Net 100Mins, valid from October 11th to October 17th , to facilitate communication among friends and families and aid in the rehabilitation process.
The contribution from MPT will benefit a total of 710 households in Bago (East) Region. Each household will receive essential food items such as rice (1 pyay or 2.24kg), canned sardines (4 pieces), instant noodles (5 pieces), eggs (10), cooking oil (50 ticals), and electrolyte packets (4).
According to reports in “The Global New Light of Myanmar,” the water level of the Bago River reached 1004 cm at 6:30 am on 9th October and continues to rise. While MPT’s telecom services were temporarily disrupted in certain townships of Bago on October 8th , the majority of townships in the region had their services restored by 21:35 on October 9th , reflecting MPT’s commitment to “Keeping Myanmar Connected.”
MPT, unwavering in its dedication, not only ensures that flood-affected people can stay connected with their loved ones but also organizes flood relief programs to lessen the suffering of those affected in the area.
