MPT Initiates Water Donation Activities To Some Parts Of Yangon To Relief The Difficulty Experience By The Local Community

(Yangon, 30th March 2022) – MPT now extend its initiative of “အတူလက်တွဲအမြဲရှိမည် MPT” by providing necessary support to the community in their required time in addition to its continuous provision of lifeline telecom services to the people of Myanmar in the difficult situations. This new efforts of providing necessary water to the community in Yangon is to provide the relief for their daily water requirements in this period especially where people are suffering water shortages due to hot summer and lack of water sources.

This water donation project tends to last about 17 days to some water scarcity townships and outskirts of Yangon which faced water shortages and MPT is expected to provide over 1.1 million gallons of water and relieve the thirst of 59,400 families in some of the townships of Yangon.

To provide such support, MPT is collaborated with (6) social relief organizations for proper distribution of water to the necessary locations and expected to cover approximately 22 townships including Hlaing Thar Yar, Htantabin, Insein, Shwe Pyi Thar, Thaketa, Mayangone, North Okkalapa, South Okkalapa, South Dagon, North Dagon, Dagon Seikkan, East Dagon, Khayan, Thanlyin, Kyauktan, Thonegwa, Dala, Seikgyi Khanaungto, Kawhmu, Kungyangone, and Thingangyun Townships.

Water donation has already started since 28th March 2022 and it is expected to last for up to 17 days where water for drinking, cooking and other necessary daily usage will be supported to the community in need in this hot summertime and expect to relief the difficulties experiencing by the community.
