
MPT, Myanmar’s No.1 Telecom Operator Celebrates 9th Anniversary Together With Its Employees
(Yangon, 9th, September 2023)- On September 1st , MPT, Myanmar’s No.1 telecom operator celebrated its the 9th anniversary for the partnership between MPT (Myanma Posts & Telecommunications) and KSGM (KDDI Summit Global Myanmar Company Limited) together with its employees at MPT Head office on Boaungkyaw road in Yangon. MPT has expressed heartfelt appreciation to customers and employees for choosing MPT as their trusted telecom operator all these years. As Myanmar’s No. 1 telecom operator, MPT has been providing telecommunications service to people of Myanmar with lifeline telecom services and non-telecom services.
For the past 9 Years, MPT has undergone a transformative journey, marked by significant milestones, such as network and infrastructure enhancements, the introduction of innovative products and services, and an ongoing commitment to CSR initiatives. Now covering over 96% of the population of Myanmar, including remote rural and semi-urban areas. Today, we proudly hold the position of the leading telecom operator, serving a continually expanding subscriber base of over 20 million. Over the 9-year journey, we encountered both successes and challenges, and among the notable milestones achieved are:
September 2014: MPT Partnered with KDDI Corporation and Sumitomo Corporation to expand its network coverage, provide quality services, and make mobile telecommunications more accessible to all Myanmar people.
April 2016: The launch of the MPT4U application marked a significant leap in customer experience. This all-in-one platform seamlessly combines telecom services and entertainment, garnering over 14.7 million users to date.
October 2016: To provide the better network service, LTE+ was launched in 2016 that has since expanded to cover over 300 townships, ensuring fast and reliable connectivity for our customers.
August 2017: MPT Dome Pyan Home Fiber Internet service (FTTH service) was launched to enhance customers’ experience by providing high-speed internet access. Today, this service is available in over 130 townships.
May 2018: Our commitment to enriching our customers’ lives is epitomized in the establishment of MPT Club which have been fortified by the collaboration of over a hundred esteemed partners and now it has over 14.5 million users, further enhancing the value we bring to our customers.
October 2020: Introducing MPT Pay “The Most Trusted Digital Money Service” was introduced for customers’ convenience and accessibility and enhance security.
May 2021:Through MPT IPTV entertainment Application, Watch TV on your Mobile Phone with MPT IPTV anytime, anywhere without subscription fees.
March 2022: To improve overall user experience and to provide customer support around the clock, Tu Tu Chat service was introduced. The chatbot is trained with frequently asked questions to handle routine questions efficiently.
