(Yangon, 20^th Oct 2023)- As a Myanmar’s first and leading telecommunications operator, MPT is always striving to seek ways to provide high-quality telecom services to customers across the country and to support the community in various ways which includes communal support activities such as collective blood donation activities.

On October 20, 2023, MPT achieved a successful milestone by organizing its 12^th Nationwide Blood Donation Activities. The event brought together MPT employees and dedicated volunteers across 7 different locations in States & Regions. Additionally, an extra Region to ensure that the blood donation drive could be completed within the month of October.

In total, there are altogether 453 blood donors participated and donated their valuable blood to the respective hospitals/blood center locations at Yangon, Mandalay, Tanintharyi, Ayeyarwady, Kachin, Shan (East) and Shan(North) respectively.

Mr. Naoki Shimane, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of MPT-KSGM Joint Operations, expressed his gratitude to everyone stated that “I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the volunteers who participated in today’s blood donation activity for their selfless contributions to the well-being of others. We believe that donating blood has the potential to save lives, particularly for individuals in need of emergency treatment. As blood donation is a noble activity for the people of Myanmar, MPT will persist in this commendable practice and continue supporting the community in every conceivable way.”

MPT’s Blood Donation Drive is a recurring activity to raise public awareness to the importance of blood donation and to mobilize volunteers across the country to donate clean and life-saving blood for medical use so that it can fulfill the blood requirements for people of Myanmar.

Since 2016, MPT, in collaboration with its partner organizations, has successfully undertaken collective blood donation activities on 12 occasions and these initiatives have garnered the participation of over 8,000 volunteers who selflessly donated their blood. Their valuable contributions have played a vital role in saving lives and enhancing the well-being of individuals in need of blood transfusions.
